About Australia Travel Market
We are an independent UK publisher covering escorted tours, multi-centre holidays and private tours to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. We are not a travel agent and we do not sell holidays.
Why the site exists
Planning a first trip to Australia is genuinely hard. It is a 24-hour flight to a continent the size of Europe, most people make the journey once, and the operators' own websites are built to sell a single product rather than help you choose between twenty. We read the itineraries line by line, cross-check what is actually included against the operator's terms, work out the real cost per day, and write it up plainly — including the parts that would put some people off.
How we research a tour
- We read the full published itinerary, the inclusions and the terms, rather than the marketing summary.
- We price every trip per person per day, flights included, so trips of different lengths can be compared honestly.
- We check what is genuinely included against what is sold as an optional extra on the day.
- We flag the things operators are quiet about — tented accommodation, unnamed hotels, land-only pricing, meals you will be buying yourself.
- We state plainly where we are working from published material rather than personal experience. We have not travelled every route on this site and we do not pretend otherwise.
What we will not do
We do not invent customer reviews or testimonials. Our scores are editorial judgements about itineraries and value, clearly labelled as ours, and they are not influenced by commission rates — several of our reviews point readers towards cheaper trips than the one being reviewed.
How we are funded
Through affiliate commission. When you click through to an operator and book, they pay us a share of their margin and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid going direct. We may also display advertising. Neither affects which tours we feature or how we rate them — the full detail is on our affiliate disclosure page.
Corrections
Prices, itineraries and inclusions change constantly, and we would rather hear about an error than leave it up. If something on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix or remove it.
